The Heart & Lung Transplant Foundation’s mission is to support heart and lung transplant recipients within Western Australia.
The Foundation’s vision for these patients is that they will have the opportunity to participate fully in day to day life, both prior to and after transplantation.
Through its support of transplantation, which includes patient education material, subsidising medical research into heart and lung disease and increasing donor awareness, the Foundation will ensure that patients have every opportunity to achieve optimum health.
The Foundation’s key areas of representation are:
- Research into heart and lung disease, transplants and related areas, designed to enhance patient outcomes
- Education into heart and lung disease, transplants and related areas, designed to enhance patient outcomes
- Patient support and advocacy
- Liaison with key stakeholders
- Donor awareness
Our immediate focus is the development of a holistic patient support program, collaborating with Fiona Stanley Hospital and other organisations where possible, to maximise outcomes for patients suffering from heart and lung disease.
